Barbara A. Zoellner

Barbara A. ‘Barb’ Zoellner, 87, of Rhinelander, formerly of Merrill and Minocqua, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Friendly Village Nursing & Rehab in Rhinelander.

Barbara was born February 5, 1938, in Merrill, daughter of Angelo and Alida (Saar) Johnson. She married Arthur ‘Art’ Zoellner on March 23, 1957, in Merrill. He survives. Barb worked as a secretary at Weinbrenner Shoe Company in Merrill. She then worked as a receptionist at Dr. Lewinnek’s office in Merrill. Eventually, Barb and Art purchased Green’s Flower Shop. They owned and operated the shop for 18 years. 

Barb was an avid gardener and was a member of the Merrill Garden Club. For many years, they enjoyed spending time at their cabin together in the Northwoods. In 2007, Barb and Art moved to Minocqua. Barb enjoyed time spent with her husband and their family.

Survivors include her husband, Arthur Zoellner of Minocqua; sons, Steven (Patti) Zoellner of Minocqua and Russell (Marie) Zoellner of Merrill; six grandchildren, Anissa (Bill) Green, Eva (Sid) Arigapudi, Amos (Kristin) Zoellner, Jenny Johnston, Logan Zoellner, and April (Dan) Evers; eleven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and brother, Marshall (Donna) Johnson of Alabama. Barb was preceded in death by her parents, Angelo and Alida Johnson; brother and sister-in-law, Ken (Sandi) Johnson; and her special cousin, Darlene Hinz.

The funeral service for Barb will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Taylor-Stine-Waid Funeral & Cremation – 301 Eagle Dr., Merrill, WI 54452. Monte Smith will officiate. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, February 22, 2025, at the funeral home. Inurnment at Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery will take place at a later date.
