Merrill

Brandelia A. ‘Brandi’ DuFour, 44, of Merrill, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

Brandi was born February 22 ,1981, in Merrill, daughter of Robert ‘Bob’ and Brenda (Boyd) Busterud. She graduated from Merrill High School with the class of 1999. She attended classes at Rasmussen College and worked as a Medical Assistant. Recently she worked at Ascension Health Care at the clinic, hospital, and in the cardiology department.

Brandi was a very involved mom and was always there for her children. She was a happy go lucky person and always had a big smile with the best dimples. She enjoyed listening to music, dancing, and getting a laugh out of Snapchat filters. Brandi loved traveling, especially spending time at the ocean, being near the water and in the sun. She loved shopping at hobby lobby, decorating her house, and crafting. She liked the holidays, dressing up for Halloween, and celebrating the kids’ birthdays. Brandi loved Mexican food and margaritas. She was a Minnesota Vikings fan, so it’s no surprise that her favorite color was purple and she named her German Shepherd ‘Skol’.

Survivors include her children, Brielle DuFour, Addison ‘Addi’ DuFour, and Dax DuFour all of Merrill; mother, Brenda Busterud (Grant Peterson) of Merrill; father, Bob Busterud of Merrill; brother, Tim ‘Taco’ Busterud of Merrill; nieces and nephews, Ana, Damion, Destinee, Brody, and Jozie; great niece and great nephews, Sofia, Sebastian, and Gabriel; and many aunts and uncles. Brandi is further survived by her former spouse, John DuFour of Weston and his family, mother, Patty DuFour of Minnesota; sister, Michelle (Nathan) Krell of Minnesota; and nephew and niece, Tyler and Brynn.

Brandi was preceded in death by her brother, James ‘Jimi’ Busterud; grandparents, Lloyd & Marilyn Boyd and James & Angie Busterud; uncles, David Boyd and Randy Boyd; best friend, Misty Glisch; and former father-in-law, Dave ‘Colonel’ DuFour.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
