Crystal L. Lambrecht, age 42, of Merrill, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, while surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 8, 1982, in Monroe, WI, and was the daughter of Mark Lambrecht and Dena Drye. Crystal attended and graduated from high school and went on to earn her associate's degree, an accomplishment she was very proud of.
Crystal was a spirited woman who was a life-long learner, incredibly bright, and fiercely determined. She was an artist who enjoyed painting and writing. Despite the challenges she faced as a quadriplegic, Crystal was unbelievably independent and an advocate for living life on her own terms. She took great pride in her appearance, always dressing beautifully and carrying herself with confidence and grace. Crystal refused to let her wheelchair define her, inspiring everyone around her with her strength, style, and determination to live life fully.
Crystal had a remarkable ability to adapt and innovate, constantly finding creative ways to make things work for her that typically wouldn’t, enabling her to maintain and expand her independence. Her resourcefulness and determination to overcome obstacles left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Crystal was a digital educator, creating content to help others on the same journey as her. She often spoke to driver’s education classes and delivered victim impact statements at Lincoln Hills. She also dedicated her time to helping kids at Ott’s Garage and making her “Crystal The Quad” content. Crystal had a deep love for her pets, especially her cat, Izzy, and cherished the beauty and peace of the outdoors whenever she had the chance. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now free from pain and will be deeply missed.
Crystal is survived by her father: Mark (Linda) Lambrecht; mother: Dena Drye; siblings: Kathy Stewart, Kimberli Smith, Chris(Amber) Lambrecht, Rainy (Devyn) Van Camp, Daneeca (TJ) Jones, and Annie (Josh) Steidinger; numerous nieces and nephews; one great nephew; good friend: Fuzz; along with many other good friends and caregivers who have supported Crystal over the years. She is preceded in death by her Grandma Lambercht and her friends: Buck, Ken Meyers and LeAnna Wells.
A Celebration of Life for Crystal will be held at S&S Bar in Merrill on February 8th (her 43rd birthday) in the afternoon. The time will be announced at a later date.
