Dennis W. Pike

Dennis Pike, 70, of Merriweather, MI formerly of Merrill, passed away February 18, 2025, at the Aspirus Hospice House in Wausau. 

Dennis was born September 21, 1954, in Merrill, son of Rudolph and Ione (Marshall) Pike. He married Roxane ‘Roxy’ Hockett on March 3, 2001, in Merrill. Dennis had worked at the former Ward Paper Mill in Merrill. When the mill closed, he began his career as an electrician and worked with IBEW Local 388. Early on in his career, he traveled throughout the United States. Dennis retired in 2015

Dennis enjoyed being at his hunting shack with his group or going to the casino. But his true passion was fishing on Lake Gogebic in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. 

Dennis is survived by his wife, Roxane (Hockett); son, Kortney Pike (Liz); daughter, Tiffany (Brandon) Peterson; and stepson, Neil (Rebecca) Hockett. His grandchildren, Sawyer Peterson, Alivia Hockett, and Alesia Hockett put a smile on his face every time he saw them. Dennis is further survived by his siblings, Sharon Hagedorn, Jerry (Cindy) Pike, Sue Pike (Roger), and Diane (Jeff) Wyland; sister-in-law, Mary Pike; his in-laws, Rene’ (Jerry) Daley, Raeane (Lloyd) Skinner, Megon Gelsone, Ron Hockett, and Rhonda (Sandy DeWeese) Hockett; and many nieces and nephews. 

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Ione Pike; brother, Robert Pike; brother-in-law, Eugene Hagedorn; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Neil and Agnes Hockett; sisters-in-law, Connie Green and Julie Hockett.

As per Dennis’ request, there will be no service. A celebration of life will be announced for family and friends to gather and share memories of their time with Dennis.
