Doreen K. Pockat-Viesselmann

Doreen Kay Pockat-Viesselmann, 78, of Merrill, formerly of Sheboygan, passed away Monday, April 7, 2025, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

Doreen was born October 19, 1946, in Merrill, daughter of Arnold Bushar Sr. and Patricia (Brown) Bushar. Doreen was raised in the Merrill area and graduated from Merrill High School in 1964. Shortly after graduation, she moved to Sheboygan and lived there for over fifty years. She worked at the Borden Company for over fifteen years. Doreen married David Viesselmann on June 21, 2017, in Grafton. They eventually moved back to Merrill. Doreen enjoyed knitting and sewing, reading, and cooking. She loved her dog, Bella.

Doreen is survived by her husband, David Viesselmann of Merrill; daughter, Ann(Richard) Koeller of Sheboygan; grandson, Gregory (Jillian) Koeller of Sun Prairie; step children, Andrew Viesselmann of Anna, Texas and Jessica Anderson of Lacey, Washington; step grandson, Arthur Anderson of Lacey, Washington; sisters, Lynn (Jim) Wolff of Gleason, Dawn Winchell of Merrill, Pamela Wopp (Jim Banasik) of Merrill, Mary (David) Fredrick of Owen, Peggy Bowen of Merrill, and Holly Bushar of Merrill; brother, Bruce Bushar of Merrill; and sister-in-law, Cindy Bushar of Nashville, Tennessee. Doreen was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold Bushar Sr. and Patricia Bushar; and brother, Arnold ‘Arnie’ Bushar Jr.

The memorial service for Doreen will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, April 14, 2025, at Taylor-Stine-Waid Funeral & Cremation – 301 Eagle Dr., Merrill. Deacon Jim Arndt will preside. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family will be establishing a memorial fund in Doreen’s name to benefit the music department at Fall River High School, Fall River, WI. Doreen’s grandson, Gregory, is the school’s Band Director, Play Director, and Musical Director.
