Gail Ruth (Grill) Wogsland, of Merrill, Wisconsin passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at the Aspirus Merrill Hospital. She was born to Walter and Gertrude (Olson) Grill on November 5, 1936, in Rhinelander, Wisconsin.
She graduated from Rhinelander High School. On October 15, 1955, Gail married Douglas Wogsland. He preceded her in death on March 11, 2011. She worked in the office at Park City Motors and Baumgart Waste Removal.
Douglas and Gail traveled every year to Ontario, Canada. She enjoyed aerobic swimming for over 20 years. She was a funny, sarcastic, sweet woman who loved puzzles and reading. Gail volunteered for The Memory Bear Workshops at Waid Funeral Home for many years and volunteered as a sewer for the senior center. She also looked forward to her “get away” weekends with her sisters and her weekly domino games.
Gail was preceded in death by her parents, brother: Walter Grill Jr., her mother and father-in-law, two sisters-in-law: Shirley Kitzke and Delores Wogsland, brother and sister-in-law Donald and Margaret Wogsland. She is survived by two sisters: Judie (Tim) Haenel and Karen (Ron) Engels, brothers, Gary (Kathy) Grill and Harvey Grill, and best friend Patricia Nitzsch of Wausau, WI. Gail will be missed greatly by her nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
Per Gail’s wishes, no services will be scheduled. Cremation will take place followed by an inurnment at a later date at Prairie Rapid Cemetery in Tomahawk, Wisconsin.
