Greg Kautza, former Tech Ed. Teacher and Business Manager at MAPS, took his "Journey to Heaven" in the early hours on Saturday, December 28, 2024.
Greg was married to Lin English Kautza, was the proud parent of Mollie Kautza Elsmark (Erik) and Andy Kautza (Jessica), and brother to Mike (Susan), Nick (deceased) Rita Kautza Benz (Ron), Andy (Julie), Mary Kautza McKown (Dan) and Paul (Lana), and son of Maude and Leonard Kautza.
The last 10+ years were spent loving his 4 wonderful grandsons: Mads (10), Jackson (9), Luka (8) and Cameron (6). He spent hours playing with them, quizzing them, watching them, and smiling about all their successes and fun, unique personalities. They were his pride and joy.
One of his proudest affiliations was the UW-Stout TKE Fraternity. He was proud to be a member with a scroll Number of 8.
Greg was a quiet and nice person and had a very adventurous spirit. He liked a good challenge and never quit. His love of the open air and Nature took him on many hiking and camping trips to the mountains out West. He built the family shack on K6, and spent many days and nights there, hunting, or just enjoying the woods he so loved, and the quiet peacefulness he found there.
Greg was very smart, talented, and skilled in many areas. Just give him a problem or situation, and he would figure it out. This is what he loved about teaching... with his students, and at home with Mollie and Andy.
Greg had high standards and values and was an exemplary role model. He had a life, well lived!
