Guy Pawlicki, age 56, of Merrill, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, after a short illness. He was born on September 18, 1968, to the late Neil and Diana (DeVries) Pawlicki in Wakefield, MI. Guy attended and graduated from A.D. Johnston High School in Bessemer, Michigan, and went on to further his education at UW-Superior.
Guy was a very kind and likeable teacher and coach at Merrill High School. He retired in June of 2024 after 30 years. He loved his job, teaching and guiding his English students and Bluejay athletes as only he knew how. Guy coached football, track and basketball, as well as the very prestigious pond hockey! Family was first and foremost in Guy’s life, his kids were his world, and he would attend every event of theirs that he could. He was a patriotic man that was active in his community. Guy was a very social person, kind, generous and self-less. He was always happy to help or would find someone that could. When Guy wasn’t teaching or coaching, he would look forward to camping trips with the family. He was a previous member of the WI Football Coaches Association and a current member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Merrill. Guy enjoyed reading and was even writing his own youth novel. He will be missed dearly by his family and community, but his love for life will live on in those he loved and those he mentored.
Guy is survived by his loving wife: Trina Pawlicki, son: James Pawlicki, daughter: Mary Pawlicki, sister: Darcy Pawlicki, sister: Kristin (Jerry) Svoke, brother: Jeff (Krista) Pawlicki, his cats: Patches and Mikko, dog: Annie, 2 nephews, 10 nieces, and many fellow teachers, coaches and athletes, as well as many good friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
